TRAKO 2019: Bochumer Verein will present current product innovations as well as the new hybrid wheel for local transport at the TRAKO 2019

Bochumer Verein will once again be represented at the leading industry event for Central and Eastern Europe with a trade fair booth. The trade fair will take place in Gdansk from the 24th to the 27th of September. It provides an overview of the state of the art in transport systems and railway infrastructure in Poland, Europe and around the world.

In hall F at booth 28, the leading international manufacturer of wheels and wheelset systems for local, long-distance and freight transport will be presenting numerous new products from its current product portfolio.

The Bochumer Verein is placing its hybrid wheel Bo2000 with rubber suspension for local transport in the limelight. The wheel weighs 30 percent less than steel wheels. This enables significantly lower axle loads and higher load increases – which creates enormous competitive advantages.

“We’re pleased to be at the TRAKO again this year”, said Heinrich Kusmierek, Key Account Manager for Central and Eastern Europe at Bochumer Verein. “Our goal is always to provide our customers with competitive advantages. The hybrid wheel Bo2000 is another successful example of this. Visit us at our booth and see for yourself.”

BVV can be found at the TRAKO in the beautiful city of Gdansk in hall F, booth 28.

The hybrid wheel Bo2000

Light, quiet, powerful: Our super lightweight hybrid wheels with rubber suspension impress with their many advantages.

The disc wheel body and the wheel rim ring of the hybrid wheel Bo2000 are made of forged aluminium and not steel as is customary. A thin, torsion-proof rubber suspension “mediates” between the steel wheel rim and the aluminium components.

The result: 30 percent less weight than conventional wheels made entirely of steel. Other advantages in addition to the enormous weight savings: lower axle load, free space for load increases and a significantly lower load on the route.

In numbers: In a six-axle light-rail car, our Bo2000 aluminium hybrid wheel produces 600 kg lighter weight per vehicle and a 100 kg lower axle load. With a total distance of three million kilometres, the Bo2000 brings energy savings of approximately 195,000 kilowatt hours or 98,000 kilograms lower CO2 emissions. The wheel is also extremely service-friendly.

Visit us at the TRAKO. It’s worth it.
